Matterport 3D LiDAR Scanner
A Matterport 3D scanner combines high-precision LiDAR depth sensing with high-resolution imaging to rapidly create accurate, fully immersive 3D digital twins of real-world spaces. Using LiDAR it captures millions of precise distance points per scan, generating detailed point cloud data with measurement accuracy to within about ±20 mm at 10 m and a wide field of view, which lets it map both indoor and outdoor environments efficiently. Scans are fast (often under 20 seconds per capture) and can cover large areas, with range performance up to ~100 meters in exported formats, and produce vivid, photo-realistic panoramic imagery alongside the 3D geometry. The resulting data supports floor plans, measurements, virtual walkthroughs, and can be exported (e.g., E57 point clouds) for use in BIM, architecture, construction, real estate marketing, or documentation workflows. More advanced modes even offer high-density scanning that captures additional detail for complex surfaces and as-built modeling.
